Artificial Intelligence

According to John McCarthy, Artificial Intelligence "is the science and engineering of making intelligent machines, especially intelligent computer programs. It is related to the similar task of using computers to understand human intelligence, but AI does not have to confine itself to methods that are biologically observable."

A computer system that seems to operate in a manner
similar to that of humans; that is, the program can understand natural language and is
capable of solving problems, learning, adapting, recognizing, classifying, self-improvement,
and reasoning. Examples of AI include Expert systems, Intelligent agents,
Neural networks, and Robotics.
