POOLESVILLE, Md., March 8, 2006 -- Visual Analytics Inc. (VAI), http://www.visualanalytics.com, has delivered a turnkey Homeland Security Fusion Center solution for the State of Delaware using grant funding from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The Delaware Information and Analysis Center (DIAC) was built on the ability of VAI's VisuaLinks and DIG technologies to access and utilize the vast information stores maintained by Delaware in the Delaware Justice Information System (DELJIS).

DELJIS is a near real-time repository of statewide information including police reports, incidents, and other public safety related data. Using VAI technologies, analysts from the State Police, federal agencies, local entities and the National Guard, etc., work together at the DIAC to discover patterns of activity in the data. VisuaLinks (http://www.visualinks.com) allows analysts to visualize relationships and connect-the-dots between people, places, crimes, officers, locations, and much more. These simple pictures allow the DIAC to get a true understanding of what is happening throughout the state and how police can improve their performance and responses.

The Digital Information Gateway (DIG) tool used at the DIAC helps analysts search any documents, databases, and/or related web sites and produce a consolidated report. DIG also provides the DIAC with management dashboards that enable everyone with appropriate permissions -- from the homeland security personnel on the street or in the office to the Secretary of Delaware's Department of Safety and Homeland Security (DSHS) -- to get an up- to-the-minute take on what's going on across all their information resources.

Using the DELJIS and VAI architecture integration as a foundation, the DIAC now shares statewide information and is poised to initiate connectivity and sharing with additional local organizations, other states, regions and federal activities as well as reach out to industry partners. The federated information sharing network enabled by VAI technologies allows other agencies to easily become providers and consumers of information in a secure and reliable fashion.
