Orlando, FL., Apr. 17, 2007 -- Pentaho Corp., creator of the world's most popular open source business intelligence (BI) suite, today announced Mondrian 2.3, the latest release of Pentaho's popular Mondrian OLAP project. The new release continues to expand the scalability of open source OLAP, and adds support for additional databases to offer Mondrian users maximum choice and flexibility in their deployments.

Mondrian 2.3 delivers enhancements designed to support active data warehousing applications with faster performance. Mondrian uses advanced caching techniques to optimize performance, and the new release provides application developers the ability to flush the data cache and reload the most current information. This capability is especially important in low-latency environments where underlying data is changing rapidly, allowing users to have the most up-to-date business information for their analyses. Mondrian 2.3 also includes the ability to trap and abort "runaway" user queries across large databases.
