ORLANDO, Fla., May 16, 2008 -- Internet visionary
turned e-health entrepreneur Steve Case predicts that converging trends in
public policy, technology and consumerism in health care will combine to
effectively "shake the snow globe," simultaneously creating disruption and
opportunity, and leading to a revolution in American health care.

The America Online co-founder, who now serves as chairman and CEO of
Revolution Health, says in-part that consumers need to overcome security
paranoia -- as they did in online financial transactions.

"Consumers must be in control of the electronic health record, as there
is far too much focus on 'who possesses the electronic storage cabinet,'"
Case said, adding that in addition to trusting the technology, consumers
must also preserve trusted relationships. "One of the most sacred
relationships is between ...

Spending on business intelligence and performance management to top $57.1B in 2008

BOSTON, May 13, 2008 -- Global spending on business intelligence
and performance management applications will reach $57.1B in 2008,
according to a report released today by AMR Research.

The study, which surveyed 400 IT and business leaders across Europe,
China, and the United States, found that the spending emphasis in BI/PM
software turned to tools and infrastructure in 2008 -- a 180-degree turn
from the focus on information-driven and content-specific applications like
dashboards and planning systems in 2007.

The study also notes a marked jump in external consulting spending (a
combination of outsourced services and integration).

"External consulting spending was less than expected in 2007 as
companies hired internally to meet anticipated needs," noted John Hagerty,
vice president and research fellow at AMR Research. "But it has bounced
back ...
