 1000GB TPC-H Benchmark; Informix Establishes Leadership in TPC-H

 (NASDAQ:IFMX), the technology leader in software infrastructure for the i.Economy, today
 announced that the company set a world record in the 1000GB TPC-H benchmark on a single node
 system, demonstrating industry leading-speed and accuracy.

    This benchmark was run using the Informix Extended Parallel Server(TM) (XPS), version 8.31,
 the company's high-end data warehouse product, on a Sun Enterprise 10000 server, also known as
 Starfire, equipped with 64 466MHz UltraSPARC II CPUs, together with the 64-bit Solaris 7
 operating environment. This combination delivered a composite query per hour rating of 6569
 QphH@1000GB at a price/performance of $1159 QphH@1000GB.

    Informix has now published both clustered and single node TPC-H benchmarks with leading
 QphH@1000GB per CPU numbers.

 "The ability of XPS to handle mixed loads of unpredictable queries clearly differentiates it

    The TPC-H (ad-hoc, decision support) benchmark represents environments where users don't
 know which queries will be executed against a database system. This means that no pre-knowledge
 of the queries can be built into the DBMS system and the query execution times can be very long.
 The real value of a decision support environment emerges when probing questions are asked and
 valuable discoveries are made, and the TPC-H measures this capability.
