THE AMERICAN RED CROSS SELECTS COMSHARE® CORPORATE PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE TO DRIVE STRATEGIC INITIATIVESAnn Arbor, Michigan, July 08, 2002 -- Comshare, Incorporated (NASDAQ: CSRE) announced today that the American Red Cross, headquartered in Washington, DC, has chosen Comshare MPC™ software for corporate performance management, to integrate its budgeting, planning and reporting systems. Charged with managing over $2 billion in funds annually, Comshare MPC will enable the Red Cross to effectively collect and distribute critical financial data, communicate policy and ultimately drive performance and strategic plans throughout the organization. Comshare MPC will run on the organization’s existing Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database. Comshare MPC will be used throughout Red Cross National Headquarters including Disaster Services operations and Biomedical Services — the largest division within the Red Cross. The new Comshare MPC system is expected to be operational by October 1, 2002. Initial roll out of the system will be in the United States with future worldwide distribution planned. Comshare’s strong track record in providing corporate performance management applications and key attributes of Comshare MPC were the factors that won the business for Comshare. The Red Cross required a scalable web-based application that could grow with the organization, a design that handled integration and security issues, and an interface that was flexible and easy to use. Initially, the application will accommodate 200 users, 1400 organizational units and over 1000 accounts. The Red Cross’s ultimate goal is to extend the system to Red Cross chapters. About the American Red Cross Chartered by Congress in 1905, the American Red Cross is not a government agency. More than one million volunteers staff the organization. Serving as a not-for-profit organization that helps victims, especially after disasters, it is a member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Aside from helping victims of more than 67,000 disasters each year, the Red Cross teaches CPR, first aid and AIDS awareness courses. It also provides counseling for US military personnel, maintains some of the nation’s largest blood, plasma, and tissue banks and served nobly after the 2001 terrorist attacks on New York City and Washington, DC.
