COMPAQ JAPAN TO RESELL SAGENT’S ETL SOFTWARE

Combination of Sagent’s Industry-Leading ETL Tools and Compaq’s Powerful Servers Offers Rapid Data Warehouse Development and Optimized Performance

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.— July 8, 2002—Sagent (Nasdaq: SGNT), a leading provider of enterprise business intelligence solutions, and Compaq Computer K.K. (Japan), today announced a reseller and marketing agreement to offer Japanese businesses a single source for data warehouse and analytical solutions. Under terms of the deal, Compaq will market, resell and implement Sagent’s Data Load Server with Compaq’s ProLiant Intel Architecture Servers.

Sagent’s Data Load Server, already ranked as the number one ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) software in Japan for the past two years with over 40% market share*, will now be included in Compaq’s best-of-breed lineup of enterprise business solutions. This puts Data Load Server – which facilitates the rapid integration of data from multiple sources – in a position to achieve even greater adoption in the ETL market, which is the fastest growing business intelligence category in Japan.

Existing Compaq customers can also rely on Compaq’s skilled professional services team to design, build, integrate, and manage an end-to-end Data Management or Business Intelligence solution, with Sagent Data Load Server as its backbone.
