Intergraph Continues to Foster Education and Research Among UCGIS MembersSecond Intergraph research grant opportunity recognizes geographic information science education and research community initiatives HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Feb. 4, 2004 - Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions, in collaboration with the University Consortium for Geographic Information Science (UCGIS), today announced an Intergraph research grant opportunity for UCGIS members. This offering marks the second research grant opportunity from Intergraph to a UCGIS member and represents Intergraph's continued commitment to the evolution of geographic information sciences (GIS). The announcement came at the UCGIS Winter Meeting 2004 being held in Washington, D.C. The research grant is open to any member using or intending to use Intergraph's technology as the foundation for geospatial research. The Intergraph research grant will award $5,000 (U.S.) cash funding and a $50,000 software donation in recognition of an exceptional and innovative applied research proposal submitted by a UCGIS member. Qualified applicants will also be invited to join the Intergraph Registered Research Laboratory Program, which provides a comprehensive software and support offering valued at $125,000 (U.S.) in exchange for two research papers per year.
