AVS offers a full range of products that enable powerful, interactive, visualization-based decision support on both the Web and the desktop, including OpenViz, VizWorks, AVS/Express, Gsharp and ToolMaster.
AVS was created in 1988 when the research and development effort behind the company's initial product began at Stardent Computer. AVS was spun out of Stardent in 1992 and acquired UNIRAS A/S, a Denmark-based supplier of computer graphing and charting products in 1993, creating a dynamic line of visualization software products that has been continuously recognized as industry-leading. Advanced Visual Systems Inc. merged with MUSE Technologies, Inc. in November 2000. MUSE Technologies was formed in 1995 through a technology-transfer program at Sandia National Laboratories. It is headquartered in Waltham, MA.
