Intergraph employee receives 2005 USGIF Military Achievement Award

Captain Chip Carr Recognized For Geospatial Expertise to Complete Mission-Critical Tasks and Protect Troops in Iraq

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Nov. 23, 2005 -- Intergraph Corporation today announced that Captain Chip Carr, Executive Account Manager, Intergraph, recently received the prestigious U.S. Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) Military Achievement Award, presented at the 2005 GEOINT Symposium in San Antonio, Texas.

Carr was recognized for his work as a geospatial analyst and team lead for a joint task force, US Army Geospatial Intelligence Special Operations Command to Iraq. As an Army reservist assigned to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), Carr volunteered to deploy to Iraq and introduced geospatial intelligence into the team's established intelligence cycles.

Carr was responsible for hundreds of short suspense, classified geospatial intelligence products to support the joint task force. Carr's knowledge of geospatial systems at the NGA, Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and commercial sources were crucial to collecting, organizing and analyzing the data necessary to complete mission-critical operations and protect troops.

"I and the people of Intergraph are extremely proud of Chip's achievements and honored by his selection for this prestigious industry award," said Intergraph President and CEO R. Halsey Wise. "Chip is an outstanding example of Intergraph's commitment to the war fighter and the global geospatial intelligence community. His use of geospatial solutions to organize vast amounts of complex data in a visual way highlights the relevance of Intergraph's people and products in the global security market. All of us at Intergraph are excited about Chip's recognition and are delighted for Chip and his family."
