As an Army reservist assigned to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), Carr volunteered to deploy to Iraq and introduced geospatial intelligence into the team's established intelligence cycles. Carr was responsible for hundreds of short suspense, classified geospatial intelligence products to support the joint task force. Carr's knowledge of geospatial systems at the NGA, Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and commercial sources were crucial to collecting, organizing and analyzing the data necessary to complete mission-critical operations and protect troops.
