A.D.A.M., Inc. and Subimo Partner to Create Comprehensive Health Care Decision Tools for Consumers

Integration of A.D.A.M.'s Illustrated Health Content into Subimo's Web-Based Tools Offers Consumers Ground-Breaking Tool in Health Decision-Making

Atlanta, GA. Aug. 15, 2002 -- A.D.A.M., Inc. (Nasdaq: ADAM), a leading developer and distributor of interactive health content, today announced a strategic partnership agreement with Subimo, a leading provider of web-based decision-making tools for consumers, to integrate A.D.A.M's Health Illustrated Encyclopedia (HIE) product into Subimo's product, the Subimo Healthcare Advisor.

The partnership gives A.D.A.M. critical distribution into the employer and health plan markets, -- previously untapped by the company. The agreement calls for A.D.A.M's HIE, an interactive database of illustrated, consumer-oriented health information on thousands of medical conditions, to be integrated into Subimo's robust decision support system. The system helps consumers make informed decisions regarding their health care options and treatment needs through the use of both quantitative and qualitative information compiled from a variety of sources.

"We partnered with A.D.A.M, to offer an intuitive, more engaging medium for our clients," says John R. Fiacco, executive vice president for Subimo. "Their comprehensive health content and illustrations coupled with our personalized and interactive tools will enable consumers to be better educated and more active participants in their health care," he said.

"We are pleased to be in a partnership with Subimo, a company with innovative technology that provides consumers much needed support in making important health care decisions," said Jim Retel, vice president of sales and marketing for A.D.A.M. "We believe this unique combination will give us momentum in penetrating the employer and health plan markets," he said.
