Siemens Power Selects ClickSoftware for 2,000-Strong Field Force; Work for More Than 2,000 Field Service Personnel Worldwide Now Powered by ClickSoftware

CAMPBELL, CA Aug. 20, 2002 --Siemens Westinghouse Power Corporation (SWPC), the world's 2nd largest provider of power generation equipment, will implement ClickSoftware's (Nasdaq:CKSW) ServiceOptimization Suite to manage both planned and unplanned power plant outages with optimum efficiency for its customers.

SWPC requires a system that can manage project-oriented jobs for more than 2,000 field service personnel across North America and Europe. ClickSoftware's ServiceOptimization Suite will provide SWPC with the ability to maximize resource utilization enterprise-wide. After a thorough evaluation process, the ClickSoftware solution was chosen for its award-winning user interface, stability, scalability and ability to mange complex projects.

"Customers are at the core of what we do. ClickSchedule will help us efficiently manage the resources necessary to serve our customers well," said Ruben Timmer, manager, business process engineering at SWPC. "We are expecting significant growth in our service business in the next few years, so the need for a service optimization solution that could scale with us and maintain performance became a top priority."

Over half of SWPC's jobs last between a week and eighteen months, meaning the software had to be able to manage multi-day tasks, where several resource teams need to be coordinated at different times across several business units. ClickSchedule will calculate optimal resource allocation and load balancing, taking into account shifts, visa requirements, regulatory compliance, the use of external contractors, and other parameters.

"ClickSoftware has been working with Siemens Medical for over 18 months, during which time they have seen engineer utilization increase by 10% and travel time reduced by 15%. Hence, we had already demonstrated to SWPC real quantifiable benefits of implementing a service optimization solution," said Dr Moshe BenBassat, CEO of ClickSoftware. "On top of this experience, the strength of the solution meant we came into this project immediately able to take on the complex needs of SWPC's service operation."
