Sand Technology Awarded $3 million CRM Analytics and Data Warehousing Contract for Singlepoint

Montreal, London, Thursday, August 1, 2002 - Sand Technology (Nasdaq: SNDT), a leading provider of enterprise-class analytical solutions, has been awarded the contract to implement a central data warehouse and the Sand Customer Insight Solution for Singlepoint, the largest independent mobile phone airtime provider in the United Kingdom.

“Currently we use Siebel for managing our customer interactions, and Geneva as our core billing engine,” says Greg Stewart at Singlepoint. “The solution from Sand Technology will enable us to integrate the data from these two systems into a central repository, and provide us with the analysis and reporting that we have been lacking. For the first time we will have a 360-degree view of our customer base that can be used by our marketing teams to better understand, segment and target our customers.”

The solution, initially announced on March 5th, is based on Sand's patented technology, will enable Singlepoint not only to undertake ‘smarter’ marketing activities based upon better targeting and segmentation of their customer base, but also to increase customer satisfaction by improving ongoing service.

“The situation faced by Singlepoint is very common in the current business environment,” says Duncan Painter, President of Sand, EMEA. “Today, companies must have a comprehensive understanding of each customer so that they can retain the profitable ones and cross-sell and upsell additional services to their most important segments.”

“We have vast amounts of experience in this area," adds Painter, "and a proven technology that can deliver powerful and user-friendly CRM Analytical solutions, quickly, cost effectively, and with a rapid Return On Investment.”
