Information Analysis, Inc. Wins Major Air Force Modernization Contract

FAIRFAX, VA, June 10 – Information Analysis, Inc. (OTCBB: IAIC) today announced that it has been awarded a contract by Northrop Grumman, a world leader in the design, development and manufacture of defense systems, to provide product and services for the modernization of the Air Force’s Standard Base Supply System (SBSS) application.

The current SBSS system is comprised of a Unisys DMS 2200 database and over 1.4 million lines of Unisys COBOL code. The target environment will utilize an ORACLE database and Micro Focus® COBOL running under UNIX (Solaris). IAI’s Integrated Conversion Solution (ICONS) product will be used to facilitate the modernization effort. Micro Focus, a leading global enterprise development company for legacy systems, will work with IAI on the development of the COBOL applications on SUN Solaris to optimize performance and provide the production level support essential for such a mission critical application.

"Based on IAI's past success in modernizing other Air Force applications, we are pleased to use the IAI ICONS Methodology and toolset to modernize the SBSS application, where the product of this activity will significantly enhance the performance and interoperability of SBSS," said Lee Stanford, the Air Force Project Manager for this engagement. "Moreover, the result of this project will also serve as the baseline for our new Integrated Logistics Systems - Supply (ILSS), an extremely important step because it establishes the solid foundation for enterprise logistics management."

In accordance with the requirement for this activity, IAI will use the ICONS automated technology to convert Unisys COBOL code to run under Micro Focus Server Express and rehost the system in a UNIX environment while maintaining the functionality of the SBSS system. In addition, IAI will also provide assistance to the Air Force in establishing the new Oracle database and any environmental issues that support the converted application.

"In addition to serving the high-demand commercial market, this latest contract demonstrates that IAI’s ICONS technology and knowledge of performing modernization projects also fills a major need for the government sector," stated Sandy Rosenberg, Chief Executive Officer and IAI President. "Furthermore, it highlights the synergy between IAI and Micro Focus in our ability to effectively bring forward disparate legacy applications and consolidate them in a Micro Focus COBOL baseline, enabling a pathway to the Internet through the Micro Focus Net Express product suite."

"IAI’s ability to cost effectively migrate COBOL applications from Unisys mainframes to Windows or Unix make them an ideal partner for Micro Focus," said Tony Hill, chairman and chief executive officer, Micro Focus. "We look forward to developing our relationship in the wider Unisys customer base."
