Documentum eRoom Wins Network World's 'Best of the Tests' Award

PLEASANTON, Calif., March 9, 2004 -- Documentum, the leading provider of enterprise content management (ECM), today announced that Documentum eRoom, a highly flexible collaborative environment, won Network World's 2003 Best of the Tests Award for Messaging and Collaboration. Network World is a leading media company that conducts objective, authoritative tests of enterprise network products.

Documentum eRoom was selected from among a number of collaboration and messaging products tested by the Network World Lab Alliance, a group of the most qualified industry experts, network integrators and universities that set methodology, conduct testing and produce the articles. Each product was subjected to rigorous, hands-on testing, and winners were chosen based on performance, management capabilities, ease-of-use and unique features.

"Documentum eRoom is easy to install and configure, has a very intuitive and easy-to-use interface, and can be adapted to meet the needs of virtually any collaborative effort," wrote Christine Perey, president, Perey Research & Consulting and Network World Lab Alliance member who tested this product. "We were impressed with how Documentum eRoom set up its workspaces and the flexibility of its user and access control - how it lets users decide who can edit a certain tool, who gets read-only access and who is banned altogether. The Documentum eRoom approach to polling - where every item or discussion can be used to launch a user poll - was also impressive, easy to implement and very democratic."

"We are honored by Network World's recognition of Documentum eRoom as both a Best of the Tests winner and Blue Ribbon Award winner in July 2003," said David Milam, chief marketing officer for the Documentum software division of EMC. "Network World is known for its thorough product testing, and these awards validate the combination of ease-of-use, flexibility and functionality that eRoom offers and that customers rave about."
