Community of Practice (CoP)

A COP is an interactive group that is often informal and self-organising that develops in response to a specific activity, subject, practice, or problem of mutual interest. Membership is determined by who participates and may transcend hierarchical and organizational boundaries. A community of practice provides a means of developing best practices or solutions to problems through communication and exchange of information and the creation of knowledge.
