Infobright and Polystar OSIX deliver data warehousing solution for mobile communications provider
TORONTO, 10/12/09 -- Infobright, the open source data warehousing company, and Polystar OSIX, one of Europe's leading telecommunications suppliers, today announced that mobile communications provider 3 Scandinavia has gone live with Polystar's Customer Experience Management (CEM) and Service Assurance solution based on Infobright's analytic database technology. 3 Scandinavia, a joint venture between Hutchison Whampoa Ltd. of Hong Kong and Investor AB of Stockholm, is leveraging the solution to more efficiently store and analyze the massive amounts of data generated by its mobile subscriber base.
3 Scandinavia operates 3G mobile networks in Sweden and Denmark, delivering voice and data services to 1.4 million customers. The provider needs to access and store up to six months of call detail records and other types of data for troubleshooting, quality assurance and business analysis purposes.
"Today's consumers rely on their mobile devices for far more than just making and receiving voice calls -- they use them to check e-mail, stream videos, browse the Web and more -- all of which generates a huge volume of data," says Kaj Ahlkvist, manager OSS of 3 Scandinavia. "The data warehousing solution provided by Polystar OSIX and Infobright enables us to quickly load and analyze all this information to gain better and faster insights into usage patterns and performance, so that we can continue to deliver high-quality service to our subscribers."
An Infobright OEM Partner, Polystar OSIX offers Customer Experience Management (CEM) and Service Assurance solutions to leading telecom operators and service providers worldwide, empowering network owners to make critical business decisions with speed and accuracy. In addition, Infobright's self-managing software reduces administrative efforts by up to 90 percent, leverages industry-standard servers, and requires much less storage than other products due to its industry-leading data compression and elimination of indexes, data partitioning or data duplication.
